THE YEAR OF THE… RABBIT
Pomp and circumstance for Lunar New Year celebrations
Pomp and circumstance for Lunar New Year celebrations
If you’ve never witnessed the pomp, colour and dynamism of Chinese New Year make a resolution to experience it. Starting in late January and running through February, Hong Kong’s public enjoy vibrant performances featuring Chinese songs, dances and other traditional arts. Festivities begin with fairs at the cities’ flower markets, followed by a Cathay Pacific sponsored Chinese New Year Night Parade on February 3, and the hair-raising Lunar New Year Fireworks on February 4.
Don’t miss the spectacular Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival and Exhibition on show for the month, and note the prevalence of fortune-telling, as folk rush to discern their fate - usually of the financial variety - in this Year of the Rabbit (www.lcsd.gov.hk/eo/)
